She received Tc-labeled red blood cell (Tc-RBC) venography under the impression of deep vein thrombosis. We found two photopenic regions over her left lower limb accidentally. A moderate amount of dark red fluid was drained from the photopenic lesions under CT-guidance. The final diagnosis was hematomas. Clinical managements of hematoma and deep vein thrombosis are quit different, it is especially challenging in patients who have concomitant hepatic cirrhosis.

Clinical Application of Technetium-99m-Labeled Red Blood Cells Subcutaneous Radionuclide Venography and Abdominal/Pelvic Hybrid SPECT/CT Imaging in Patients with Suspicion of Proximal Deep Vein Thrombosis
Technetium-99m-labeled red blood cells subcutaneous radionuclide venography can apply to evaluate deep venous flow of lower extremities. We introduce additional abdominal/pelvic hybrid SPECT/CT (single-photon emission computed tomography with computed tomography) to scrutinize the proximal deep venous flow defects in the iliac vein. SPECT/CT imaging is collected when disturbed or asymmetrical i...

متن کاملDetecting aorto-ureteric fistula by 99mTc-Labeled Red Blood Cell SPECT
A 68-year-old male, known case of abdominal aortic dissection and recent aortic stent insertion, presented with gross hematuria. The urologists suspected aoro-ureteric fistula and performed open surgery (ureterolysis). Tc-99m labeled red blood cell (99mTc-RBC) scintigraphy was ordered to confirm the diagnosis and localize the possible aorto-ureteric fisula, Considering sustained gros...
متن کاملIncidental finding of an incisional hernia In the 99m Tc-DTPA renal scan of a transplant recepient [Persian]
Abdominal wall hernias are the most common situations requiring major surgeries. In this study, we report a large incisional hernia, as an incidental finding, in a Tc-DTPA scan of a renal transplant recepient. Increased flow of activity in dynamic phase and relatively increased and nonuniform tracer accumulation in static phase of the study were observed.

PURPOSE The accurate diagnosis of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is essential to prevent its complications and to initiate appropriate treatment. Doppler ultrasound (DUS), contrast venography, and intravenous radionuclide venography have been used for many years to detect DVT. However, obtaining venous access in the foot for injection of contrast agent can be difficult. METHODS The authors introd...
